Why I Chose a Higher Level Apprenticeship

I chose a Higher Level Apprenticeship at MTM Engineering because it’s a growing company with plenty of opportunities to progress my career and learn from different departments. I felt it would give me strong experience in a real working environment while developing my skills.

Before choosing a Higher Level Apprenticeship as an Accounts Technician, I considered going the university route to study accountancy. After weighing up the pros and cons, I felt the apprenticeship path was the right decision for me.

Earning While Learning

A Higher Level Apprenticeship allows you to earn while you learn, which really suited me. I didn’t want to go to university full-time and I enjoy working, so this option gave me the best of both worlds.

It allows me to build my career, gain experience, and still earn money at the same time. The idea of earning while learning and gaining real experience played a big role in my decision.

Why MTM Engineering Stood Out

What made MTM Engineering stand out for me was the strong community feel within the company. Everyone is very welcoming, there’s good craic across all teams, and the progress the company has made over the past 10 years really stood out to me as a growing and ambitious company.

Advice for Future Apprentices

My advice to anyone thinking about a Higher Level Apprenticeship would be to definitely give it a try. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience, earn while you learn, and see if the career path is right for you.
