At MTM Engineering, sustainability is embedded in the way we operate, design, and deliver solutions for our clients. We recognise our responsibility to reduce environmental impacts, support the transition to a low‑carbon economy, and contribute positively to global climate goals.

As part of this commitment, MTM Engineering measures and reports its carbon footprint annually, monitoring Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our operations and value chain. This data‑driven approach enables informed decision‑making, targeted action, and continuous performance improvement. Our carbon reporting is independently calculated and reviewed, ensuring transparency and accuracy in how emissions are quantified and tracked year‑on‑year.

In June 2025, MTM Engineering took a significant step forward in its sustainability journey by formally developing and adopting a Decarbonisation Plan aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The SBTi provides a best‑practice framework that supports emissions reduction targets consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre‑industrial levels.

MTM Engineering has already begun delivering tangible emissions reductions through targeted initiatives:

  • All fleet vehicles at the Head Office in Slane have transitioned to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) renewable diesel. The fuel is stored and managed on‑site at headquarters, enabling an immediate reduction in emissions associated with company transport.

  • MTM Engineering’s Head Office transitioned to a 100% renewable electricity supply through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).This change significantly reduces Scope 2 emissions and supports Ireland’s renewable energy infrastructure.

  • MTM Engineering has installed a 20 kWp Solar PV system at its headquarters in Slane, with a second phase planned to add a further 51.03 kWp. Once fully implemented, the combined system is expected to deliver annual carbon emissions savings of approximately 28,077 kg CO₂e, contributing to long‑term operational decarbonisation and energy resilience. To enable the ongoing transition to low‑emission transport, four EV charging units have been installed at the Slane office, supporting both company and future electric vehicle use across the workforce.

MTM Engineering remains focused on embedding sustainability across every aspect of the business. Our Decarbonisation Plan is a living framework that will evolve as technology advances, regulations change, and new opportunities arise to further reduce our environmental impact.

By aligning with science‑based climate targets and implementing practical, measurable actions today, MTM is committed to supporting a more sustainable, resilient future for our people, our clients, and the communities we serve.
