MTM have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Engineer based at our Armagh office, to join our fast-growing team.

Key Responsibilities​

• You will work as part of Design team along with Estimating and Operation Teams

• You will review technical specifications and offer the best solutions, subsequently issuing and tracking technical submittal documents to customers to obtain material approvals

• Use of 3D modelling software to formulate models and drawings of design solutions for electrical containment and related components (training will be provided)

• Extracting measurements from BIM model (Revit/Navisworks)

• Use of BIM modelling software to review site requirements and identify issues (training will be provided)

• Perform detailed calculations establishing standards and specifications

• You will engage with the design team to offer the best solutions to site specific requirements

• You will engage with estimating team for material costing on tender stage. 

• Review Specifications/Client requirements, engage with client to obtain right information

• You will lead Design to Cost (DtC) and Value Engineering (VE) exercises with suppliers and the company engineering to drive cost optimisation

• Set up standards and templates to streamline processes

• Working with suppliers negotiating prices

• Build strong inter-departmental relationships

• The preparation and placing of supplier orders

• Ensuring that all incoming goods are delivered on time

• Conduct supplier negotiations and establish price structures

 

This role may also require you to assist the Estimating and Commercial teams with their workload as the need arises.

• Ability to work in a fast paced and at times pressurised environment.

• Strong communication skills

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.

• Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload.
