On-Site Stores Operative

MTM Engineering has an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our stores department to assist with day to day running of stores, logistics & tool maintenance.

The Role...

As Stores Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the existing Stores team and tool maintenance. Inspect and manage all incoming and outgoing plant, tools and materials required for project operations. The role will be crucial to successful delivery of services, assisting with troubleshooting, supply chain and inventory management, distribution, and delivery.

Responsibilities...
  • Responsible for control of all MTM plant & materials, both inbound & outbound.

  • Develop and maintain detailed records of all store items and movements.

  • Regular inventory of all MTM Store items, report any deficiencies and update inventory details to MTM’s asset management system.

  • Collaborate with supervisors/planners to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.

  • Liaise with suppliers for goods and transport, to ensure MTM receives the best possible product/service/price.

  • Issue plant and materials to site operatives as needed, ensure all allocated items are recorded.

  • Inspect & test inbound tools & plant, record any defects and arrange for maintenance if required.

  • Ensure that all products are stored safely and securely, with strict adherence to proper storage protocols to prevent damage or loss.

  • General housekeeping, keep the store area clean, tidy and organised at all times.

  • Deliver & collect plant & tools if and where required.

  • Forklift duties.

  • Be prepared to undertake other duties as assigned by Site Manager.

The Person...
  • Good work ethic.

  • Mechanical knowledge/experience.

  • Strong attention to detail & organisation skills.

  • Willingness to learn.

  • Proficient in MS Excel.

  • Meticulous record keeping.

  • Capable of tracking all plant & materials inbound & outbound.

  • Reporting any variances in actual vs forecast plant & material usage.

  • Ability to work independently & on own initiative.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and by email/phone.

  • Working to strict deadlines.

  • Category B Driving licence.


Desirable Criteria...

  • Forklift experience.

  • Category C Driving licence.
