The Role...
As an Electrical Engineering Apprentice at MTM Engineering, you will learn to support the planning, coordination and delivery of electrical installation works across a variety of large-scale construction projects. You will develop core skills in interpreting technical drawings, understanding electrical systems, supporting site teams and contributing to the safe and efficient execution of works. This apprenticeship will give you a strong foundation in electrical design principles, installation standards, testing and commissioning processes, project coordination and quality assurance.

Responsibilities...
Support the latest technology data centre construction projects in Ireland, the UK and across Europe, gaining exposure to large scale engineering environments
Assist in reviewing project technical specifications and drawings to begin understanding the operational requirements of MTM Engineering projects
Use BIM navigational tools under guidance to view and explore building 3D models as required for projects
Help with the selection of suitable cable installation accessories and assist in preparing technical submittals for client approval
Support the review of construction drawings and BIM models to understand electrical routing requirements on site
Assist in generating Requests For Information (RFI) to seek clarity on specification requirements
Liaise with clients, suppliers and MTM Engineering team members under supervision to help obtain solutions to issues as they arise
Participate in periodic site visits to observe site progress and discuss any changes required with MTM Engineering colleagues
Organise assigned workload to suit priorities as agreed with the MTM Engineering team
Complete allocated tasks within agreed timelines
Assist with the specification and procurement of electrical equipment to match client and supplier requirements
Contribute to team discussions on issues identified and support collaborative problem solving

A conditional offer to study a Higher Level Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, with employment dependent on meeting the required entry conditions and formally commencing the course before starting the role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
A flexible attitude with a willingness to travel for site visits in Ireland, the UK and Europe as required
Desirable
Some relevant work experience or exposure to Construction or Electrical Engineering
A keen interest in large scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the data centre and critical infrastructure sectors
