The Role...

As an EHS Lead you will oversee project EHS Team assisting the project team and implement and maintain company management systems for the project duration. The successful EHS Lead will coordinate all EHS matters and report any issues directly to the Project Manager and EHS Manager.

Responsibilities...
  • Manage and work closely with the MTM EHS Team on the project and direct all functions of their job role on site.

  • Engage with MTM Project Manager on work scope look ahead and develop Site Specific RAMS for works scope.

  • Engage with main contractor Safety Team for site mobilisation of team members to the project in line with Finnish local requirements (Supported by MTM HQ Safety Team).

  • Ensure MTM EHS management systems are implemented and maintained for the project in line with project specific EHS Plans received from PSCS.

  • Ensure project training matrix is up to date and training in place for all MTM team members (Supported by MTM HQ Team).

  • Coordination in the development safe plan of action, permit to work with the MTM team on site and main contractor.

  • Ensure project PPE is resourced & available and communicated to Project Manager.

  • Provide advice and training in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and team members in line with MTM in house training monitoring system.

  • Provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day EHS requirements of the projects and promote a positive safety culture through MTM EHS advisor on site.

  • Attend and provide input at Site meetings, report on work scope EHS risks, trends and recommend constructive actions towards continuous improvements.

  • Review and carry out digital audits, inspections & incident investigation reports, establish corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence and continuous improvements with site team engagement.

  • Develop and complete site-specific Toolbox Talks on site aligned with site audits and EHS findings to help promote a positive safety culture and high level of compliance.

  • Review documentation within the project cloud safety folder, (GA2, GA3, SPA’s, RAMS Sign off’s, Safety Statement Sign Off’s, Inductions, PPE Records, Site Audits, TBT’s etc.) managed and submitted by MTM EHS advisor on site.

  • Collaborate with the wider MTM EHS Team monthly chaired by the MTM EHS Manager for continuous improvement and knowledge share across existing projects to help further improve a positive safety culture on projects.

The Person...
  • Relevant third level Certificate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation

  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary

  • Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site with current EHS team on site

  • Strong communication & computer skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills alongside project manager

  • Previous site experience 3 years minimum

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package
