Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor - Co. Kildare

 

MTM Engineering Ltd have a position available for an EHS Advisor based in the Co. Kildare area.

 

As an EHS Advisor you will join the project team and implement and maintain company management systems for the project. The successful EHS Advisor will coordinate all EHS matters and report any issues directly to the Project Manager. The role will be based on an Irish project on a night shift basis (Monday to Thursday). 

 

Your role as an EHS Advisor:

  • Ensure EHS management systems for all the projects are implemented and maintained

  • Co-ordinate the development of task specific method statements, risk     assessments, safe plans of action and permit to work

  • Ensure compliance with the project safety statement

  • Manage co-ordination of project safety indicators

  • Ensure that good safety practices are managed & maintained

  • Provide advice and training in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and employees

  • Provide leadership and co-ordinate the day-to-day EHS requirements of the project.

  • Attend and provide input at site meetings, report on business EHS risks, trends and make constructive recommendations towards continuous improvements

  • Carry out audits, inspections & incident investigation reports, establish corrective and preventative actions to avert reoccurrence and ensure continuous improvement

  • Engage with the client on a daily basis

  • Compile & carry out toolbox talks, as necessary

  • Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to Mercury Engineering project 

  • Ensure that all documentation is up to date within the Safety File

  • Ensure that all records of statutory inspections are available for project activities, tool and plant

 

Qualifications and Key Criteria:

  • Relevant third level Certificate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety, minimum Cert to NVQ 6 in Occupational H&S

  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation

  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary

  • Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site

  • Strong communication & computer skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills

  • Previous site experience, 3 years minimum

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package

  • Remuneration will be in line with qualifications and experience
