Contracts Manager

Clonmel, Ireland

MTM Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our existing team in Clonmel, Tipperary.

MTM Engineering was established in 1997 and is an Electrical Engineering company that specialises in MV & LV electrical cable installation, termination services, and containment solutions for a wide range of construction projects. Our expertise spans across industries such as Data Centres and Pharmaceutical throughout Europe and beyond.

The Role… 

As the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for overseeing electrical packages from start to finish, ensuring that the work is completed on time and within budget, as per the agreed contract. Each project will have an Electrical Project Manager who will report to you. You will report to the Business Unit Manager. 

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong market awareness to identify potential new opportunities. 

  • Provide the relevant support and advice to secure potential projects and opportunities from client interaction to involvement in the tender and bidding process. 

  • Attend regular meetings with the client and site teams. 

  • Partake in contract negotiations and ensure all parties involved have a clear understanding of their obligations. 

  • Oversee the execution of operations to ensure assigned projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.  

  • Monitor the performance of each assigned project.  

  • Responsible for coordinating every aspect of the project, coordinating deadlines, labour, plant and more. 

  • Participate in negotiations to agree extra work to be done on the contract, resolve any disputes. 

  • Manage, mentor and coordinate both site staff and sub-contractors at the various stages of the project.  

  • Provide clear leadership and guidance to the different teams across assigned sites while maintaining a professional manner. 

  • Maintain accurate reporting on project progress, Health and Safety, quality and budget. 

  • Ensure that strict quality control, health and safety measures are adhered to. 

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with clients to ensure their expectations are met. 

  • Meet regular with the client, stakeholders and operations managers to discuss project progression. 

  • Identify challenges and potential improvements to processes and devise plans to implement these changes. 

  • Travel to projects in Ireland & Europe is expected as required on a weekly basis.

 

Essential Criteria... 

  • Proven track record in project management  

  • Good communication skills; both verbal and written 

  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word; Excel; Powerpoint; Outlook; Teams) 

  • Attention to Detail 

  • Self-motivated to ensure that project deadlines are achieved 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
